exploring and desire to make a difference led to her collaborate with Palm Beach County (PBC) Library Systems to begin the community Seed, Seedling & Plant Xchange in March 2016 to present. Held at the Lantana Branch the 3rd Saturday of each month at 2pm. PBC residents, visitors and other interested individuals bring their seeds, cuttings, seedlings, small plants to trade and fruit from their gardens to share. With the consensus of the garden enthusiasts the inception of the first funded Seed Saving Bank was set-up at the Lantana Branch Library with Lantana Homes just before Covid-19. We celebrated with t-shirts, garden tool boxes and donated heirloom seeds.
As the founder of Community Faith Outreach Ministries, a not-for-profit charitable social services organization; Dr. D. installed the first public-partnership in the southeast region. This effort includes the PBC Libraries, PBC Cooperative Extension, Quantum Foundation, Chase Bank and many other like-minded stakeholders to present the “Veterans Community Micro-Farm Project,” housed outside of the West Boca Library Children’s Section Window on Veterans Day 2018. The current project expansion provides up to 25-families with garden containers for the first “Family Container Plot Program” in the US. Lastly, she created the first Whole Health Intergenerational Nutrition Education (WHINE) Programs 2019-2021.
