May’s EHS Member Speakers are:

  1. LESLIE RIGG: Leslie began attending EHS meetings in the late 1990’s. In 2007 she joined the EHS Board as the Newsletter editor and in 2013 she passed it on to Cathy Azzarello. Though she does very little gardening of any type now, for many years, she maintained an herb garden in her back yard, and she maintains her commitment to EHS.
  2. MARCI GREEN: EHS Secretary, Master Gardener, horticultural scholar, inventive and superb cook, collator of EHS’s Holiday Cookbook.
  3. MEG VANDEREEDT: EHS Past President, EHS Mounts Plant Sales (lots!) Chair, Master Gardener, professional chef and vegetarian expert, herbal medicine guide to herb conferences, founder of Herb and Spice Scentsations (herb rubs and salts).

Our Speakers for May will cover four aspects of this plant: Leslie - History and Folklore; Marci - Food and Beverage; Meg - Medicinal and Growing - by the Board.

A little help for our friends

Kids Garden Project needs your support!

The Master Gardener Fall Class of 2017 is helping the Coleman Park after school kids learn to grow their own food and we are in need of some herb donations for the garden. Many of these children aren’t always sure where their next meal will come from and the garden will give them food to take home for their families to enjoy and teach them how to grow their own food at home. A farmer donated vegetable seeds but the kids want to grow herbs too. If you have some extra seeds or some cuttings you can donate to the garden please contact Chris Radentz at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or (561) 889-8343 or bring your donation to the September or October EHS meeting. We will have someone at these meetings to pick up any donations. If you are interested in volunteering to help with the garden project please contact Chris at the contact information above. We thank you in advance for your help with this community project!
